EntryPoint is a designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by the IRS!

EntryPoint has always been a community-focused organization and now we can amplify our support as a registered Midwest nonprofit organization. We are committed to partnering with organizations to deliver comprehensive research insights and implement effective data-driven programs that promote entrepreneurship across the Midwest.

This tax-exempt status allows us to expand the reach of our mission. 501(c)(3) status gives us increased flexibility with regard to the organizations we work with, as well as increasing the types of research and programs we are able to offer. We are data geeks who want in on the action of addressing the challenges and highlighting the strengths of the Midwest entrepreneurial ecosystem. Gaining 501(c)(3) status as a Midwest nonprofit organization allows us to do even more!

To build on this momentum, we appointed the following industry leaders and experts as members of the EntryPoint Community Research Institute Board:

  • Carrie Jones, Chairperson, Senior Advisor to the Mayor, City of Detroit
  • Jeff Rinvelt, Treasurer, Managing Director, Renaissance Venture Capital Fund of Funds
  • Jennifer Owens, Chief Executive Officer, Lakeshore Advantage
  • Marlin Williams, Vice President, Global Diversity and Inclusion, StockX

If you are a foundation or other community-focused organization, the application of this work is clear. For purpose-driven organizations, data means more than just numbers and graphs – it is about understanding what more you can do to change lives and strengthen communities. Using a measured approach to understanding and telling stories of impact is key and being able to develop effective programs that make a larger impact changes the world.

How can we help you make a larger impact?

Our goal is to promote entrepreneurship by providing insights that highlight the trends, challenges, and opportunities facing organizations across sectors, stages, demographics, and geographies. We do this by taking a mixed-methods approach to delivering extensive quantitative and qualitative analysis; then, contextualize our research findings to ensure our reports are accessible to a broad range of constituents. You can see examples of our research reports here, here, and some exciting upcoming reports here.

Programs

EntryPoint partners with organizations to implement effective programs that promote entrepreneurship by seizing opportunities for improvement and building greater connections across sectors, stages, demographics, and geographies across the Midwest.  We utilize data-driven insights to carefully design pitch competitions, grant and investment workshops, networking events, and other events that further education, opportunity and advocacy.
