Ben Bernstein is a Principal at Invest Detroit Ventures where he develops relationships with entrepreneurs across Michigan, helping to coach and develop startup talent to prepare them for investment. In addition to deal development, Ben also be manages the investment process, driving diligence through to deal documentation and funding.
Ben is a seasoned finance and investment professional who started his career in investment banking at UBS’s Global Consumer Products & Retail Group. After five years on Wall Street, he spent another three years as a VC investor for a NYC-based fund focused on job creation, economic development and local innovation. He then spent 3+ years helping build two different startups in New York City. His expertise and experience covers a cross-section of industries ranging from high-growth technologies to consumer products to social impact. A native of Los Angeles, Ben graduated from Princeton with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Certificate in Political Economy. He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and two boys.
