Amy Nelson, CEO of Venture for America, joins The Cackle to discuss mobilizing the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Amy Nelson serves as CEO of Venture For America (VFA), an organization dedicated to creating economic opportunity through entrepreneurship. Prior to becoming CEO, Amy served as Managing Director and VP of External Relations at VFA, where she led efforts that more than tripled the size of the organization and its reach. Amy is deeply committed to making VFA the go-to path for aspiring young entrepreneurs, having designed and built the organization’s Accelerator program and Seed Fund to help VFA Fellows launch businesses.
Prior to VFA, Amy held business development positions at B Lab, Relief International and Cambodian Children’s Fund. She has helped dozens of nonprofit organizations with fundraising and strategy over the years as a consultant and advisor. Currently, Amy sits on the boards of Venture For America and Safe Haven Medical Outreach in Cambodia and is a member of the NationSwell Council. Amy is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College and NYU’s Stern School of Business.
